Bwuahaha

Okay, I made the mistake of Googling my original penname. I'm in tears here.

Now, normally I don't give permission for translation requests because I'm pretty damn choosy about what words I use in a fic and whatnot, and I'm always quite worried that a translator just won't see the English as I do, and therefore will translate with a different spin. I love Mr Thesaurus, you see. And let's face it. I don't speak any other languages. Knowing a handful of phrases in French and German hardly qualifies.

Anyway, so I'm Googling, and I run across Crumbling Pedestal as translated into Russian, and back to English, and I'm dying of laughter.

(Note: I use Firefox, so that link might not work right. Untranslated link here.)

The part that had me howling: "But, ultimately, it is still returned to the boomerang. I was not even scared. I think all of us can see it, even if they do not understand what happened. Just imagine - I let fly a snake at Sneypa."

Also: "The tail is close to Harry, trying to get back on its feet. He extended his hand and a silver one scoop cut the rope, tied to the tombstone guy."

Anyway, I can't imagine for the life of me why they chose to use justified text for the whole thing, or why the tense switches around.

This is why people shouldn't Google themselves!
