Domain of Heroes

I've been playing the hell out of Domain of Heroes lately (yes, I'm still in Legends of Zork, but that's gotten a tad boring), and today was a banner day of hijinks. Of the annoying variety, that is. Someone apparently managed to uncover a bug with one of the very popular NPCs (he's used for a quest line, so he gets talked to a lot) which caused the game to go into an infinite loop and crash the server. Whee!

So for around eight hours, er, yesterday (technically) the game crashed every 5-10 minutes. I, being something of a masochist when it comes to perseverance, kept logging in every time the game crashed. (And just as well, since I got a rune drop in there somewhere.) Eventually the problem was tracked down, NPCs were disabled while the big guy worked on it, and I said to myself, "Self, I can take a nap."

Came back about twenty minutes ago to a login screen. We were reset again, it seems. But that's not the fun part. Happened to check my Wishes tab (as I always do after voting, to see my current total of referral points) and realized I had 25 non-tradeable wishes. Bwuh?

Checked my email, as at least I have enough sense to do so (unlike some other players) and saw one from the big guy. Seems he granted a Wish for every time a player logged in during the fiasco. Bonus! Dogged optimism FTW! I can't use them to buy equipment, but I can certainly increase my timer, upgrade my mule capacity, etc.

It's so nice to see a company which actually compensates the players for this sort of thing.

Persona 4

A few days ago I was watching captures of Persona 4, mainly because no one has LP'd it yet and I was curious to know if I'd want to get it and play it myself.

Thus far I've decided that Chie is incredibly pushy, not at all attractive, and I really don't care for her. Even after she's humbled... she's still irritating, tactless, rather mean, and really annoying.

Yukiko is the usual "oh, I'm so terribly shy and feminine" type, thus gaining my enmity, but at least she's reasonably cute. However, that hides, apparently, a bushel basket of mental issues.

The voice acting is also subpar, which is a shame.

But, the thing so far that really frosts my cookies is the game's habit of letting you "watch" something, such as a news report, then regurgitating it back to you two seconds later, like you needed that immediate reminder to help keep the information in short term memory.

First, you hear the information. Then, you get a summary. And then, Help pops up with yet another summary. And then you get bludgeoned over the head maybe every ten minutes with the same information, just to make sure you didn't forget... or something.

This does not bode well. I should probably stick with asking for Overlord 2 for Xmas.
