Game Rambling

I just finished watching a playthrough of Chrono Cross (I lent my game out and haven't seen it again), which led to adding more music to my playlist. I'd forgotten just how much I liked the music from Hydra Swamp, and especially 'Dragon God', which is an excellent boss battle theme. Mmm! Maybe I should try to double the length of it...? Maybe I should, since three minutes just isn't long enough. Sorta made me want to play the damn game again, actually, even though the battle system makes me uneasy.

Random Babbling

So, I've been writing walkthroughs for myself. You know, so I know exactly what prompts to pick, how to set up my armies, etc., without having to do the work from scratch every time, and correcting errors in the usual ones from a place like GameFAQs. And making maps! Whee! Maps that sit on the page and can be swapped around if there's more than one necessary for an area.

And duel prompt tables! It always bugged the heck out of me that people list the prompts by type, not alphabetically.

Anyway... I realized what people meant with glaring obviousness when they complained that Suikoden IV was a short game. I managed a mere two pages for that one (at around 100 inches per, not counting additional length when the prompt tables are expanded). Whereas, working on Suikoden V, I'm already mostly through page four, with a possibility of page five. (I felt like crying at having to go through another strategy battle so soon again, though, so I took a break before storming... Stormfist.)

I also added some additional tracks to my playlist from S5... some of them finally grew on me. Specifically: Godwin Family Castle, The Extreme Deep, Traces of the Sindar Civilization, and Wandering the Labyrinth.

So, yeah... got distracted again.... and again... so, whatever.

Today's Report

Suikoden III )

And then, we had a weekend visitor (family), who just happened to have an ARMax and no longer owned a PS2. So I've been given the "device" on "indefinite loan." Wheee!!! Naturally, I immediately set out to play with it.

Suikoden III pt. 2 )

But then I got bored of running into a wall to sort of auto-fight to get skill points for the other people in the party, so I decided to play FF12 instead.

And sure, I used Mr ARMax there, too, since I've already beaten the game legitimately. I'm liking that money cheat! *eyes the Xenosaga trio* I did become annoyed when I realized that the L1 and L2 buttons don't work the same. In S3 they function as Accept and Cancel respectively, so you could actually play one-handed, but they don't work that way in FF12. Oh well.

But then, depression set in. )

Well, whatever. Back to whacking the pixies out of black chocobos and pretending they're my broken computer parts.
