So, it was recommended to us that Zack and Miri Make a Porno was a fun film to watch.

And it is, though one has to be aware ahead of time of the preponderance of swear words. Then again, this is a Kevin Smith film, so that's to be expected. It is funny, the humor being a bit crude (again, expected), and it has more than a few moments where I kind of gaped at what I was seeing. Randal (Jeff Anderson) and Jay (Jason Mewes) from Clerks is in it, but even before he appears, anyone familiar with Jay and Silent Bob would know this is a Smith creation.

Sensitive people and those who take offense easily should avoid.

It's absolutely fucked-up weird what you'll stumble over while reading Let's Play threads.

So... the "boys" have decided to be boys. They came home two days ago with a set of remote control helicopters. Not shockingly, Storm flees the moment one of them gets that gleam in their eyes, but Shadow, oddly enough, is cautiously curious. Sadly, the little suckers are light enough that the ceiling fans tend to send them spinning off course. They're kind of like drunken dragonflies, really, and they almost sound like them, too.

Played more Liberal Crime Squad. Finally managed to get some electronic hijinks going, and sent off a team of brainwashed people to raid some places. Getting a better feel for "combat", you see, plus looting and destroying equipment. Still have yet to steal a damn car.

Considering getting Evil Genius.

Making more progress on the Project Nimby.

I have to add my vote to that of jondosh, the movie Hard Candy was fantastic. They say it's psychological horror... I say it's a really fun time with a somewhat insane and wholly sadistic girl. Oh, I giggled my way through a lot of the movie.

Now, if you enjoyed Control Issues at all, you may like this movie for the revenge-type theme, though I will point out for squeamish people that there's really nothing explicit, but it's all very well done. (Guys might have some issues with this one, sorry.)

The two actors in question did really well, I think. The guy was fabulous, and she (though I have seen reviews with people thinking she overacted it) was damn good, too. I don't think she overacted it. I think she was doing well at being a very pissed off and vengeful little sadist.

I feel a certain sense of satisfaction right now. :)

In other news *snort* I watched Resident Evil: Degeneration, as it finally arrived in Mr Mailbox from Netflix. I wasn't expecting Square quality, and I didn't get it. S'ok, though I think Hunnigan, Clair, and... Angela? all had the same facial geometry. Leon was smokin' hot! I hate that hairstyle, but he worked it, baby. It was an interesting enough movie, and I admit I squeed when Clair whacked the senator.

Made a theme layer today. Interesting is all I can say.

Was pleasantly surprised to realize that one of the changes at the Pit of Despair included additional info on one's alerts list, which means now I can sort the sucker by fandom, which is pretty cool.

Rambling, yes! It's what I do!

So, I finally watched The Dark Knight the other day. I liked it. (And reading rumors that Johnny Depp may be a villain in a rumored #3 was a squee moment.) Don't get me wrong, I liked Keaton, and I love Burton, but that set was rather campy in style, whereas the new set is more... real, which is also good.

So, in a fit of masochistic glory, I decided to watch Order of the Phoenix. I'd have watched GoF first, but then I remembered someone had borrowed that DVD and mysteriously never returned it. I'd bitchslap her if I could, but then I might become contaminated with stupidity.

Anyway... so here's the list of thoughts I had during this fascinating movie experience. Feel free to skip right by if you don't want to hear mostly bitching.

On a side note, I finally managed to track down a very specific screencap I wanted, so that made me feel a lot happier.
